Our Sources
Every piece of information on zaWise comes from verified, official sources. We rely on:
- Official .gov.za portals (srd.sassa.gov.za, www.sassa.gov.za, dsd.gov.za)
- Government Gazette publications
- SASSA press releases and official statements
- Department of Social Development publications
- National Treasury budget documents
- Verified news outlets covering social assistance policy
We do not use social media posts, unofficial forums, or unverified rumours as sources.
Our Process
- Research: We gather information from official government sources and verified publications.
- Write: Our writers create clear, easy-to-read content in plain South African English.
- Fact-check: Every article is checked against the original official sources before publishing.
- Publish: Articles go live with the author's name and the publication date clearly displayed.
- Review: We review and update all articles at least once a month, or immediately when SASSA announces changes.
Author Attribution
Every article on zaWise shows the author's name and the date it was last updated. Our lead writer is Thabo Molefe, who has covered social assistance policy since 2021.
